Internet of Things (IoT)
New technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) are developing at lightning speed and are an important driver for innovation and economic growth. Poorly secured IoT applications are a threat to our security and privacy; ICT products and services must be secure. Enforcement and supervision of duties of care in the Netherlands and abroad is essential. The Cyber Security Council wants more attention to be paid to this in the Netherlands; its risks must be addressed to limit and prevent damage. Legislation must also be introduced in the field of duties of care within the European Union (and worldwide), which is currently not or hardly coordinated with each other, and European certification is desirable.
